2023
The Robiocup has been blesses with some great fun and thrilling finishes. This year certainly didn't disappoint. The captains made moves during the off season to build their clubs with some solid golfers. The match was close from beginning to end. All four teams were on each others tail the entire weekend. One surprise was Team SixtySix in second place after round one. Friday is typically moving day and the the two teams that took that route was Team Robio and Team Sharkey. Team Bones struggled along with Team SixtySix and Saturday morning round ended with Team Robio leading with 70 points, Team Sharkey with 69 and Team Bones and SixtySix tied with 63. The HorseRace is the event that can bring out a surprise or shocking finish. This year was a thriller. The march down the four holes to start was exciting. Team SixtySix was dismantled on the first round only advancing two 2somes. Team Bones advancing nine team, Team Robio 7 and Team Sharkey 6 giving Team Bones some momentum, but needed a small miracle. The 2Some of Isaacson and Robio was methodically tearing up the course until Isaacson had to catch a plane! That did it for that 2Some and opened the door for Team Sharkey's 2Some of Rudy and Rooferson to rise to the occasion. Rudy made a great chip out of the trees on hole 8 to save them to make the final three. Rooferson, who has won the horserace years ago and made the finals three times, stepped up to his 8 foot left to right putt. Looked it over, and artfully made it wrap around the cup before falling to the bottom for the dramatic win! That putt gave Team Sharkey the extra 5 points to win the Robipcup for the first Time! Team Sharkey went from fourth to first in one year! Team Sharkey - 86 Team Robio - 83 Team Bones - 73 Team SixtySix - 63 |

2022
Another year of four teams of 22 golfers flocking to Gull Lake Gull Lake for Robiocup '22. Bones looking to go for the three-peat. 2022 was the year of the youths. Team Robio went with seven youths this year. Team Bones didn't make any changes to his championship team. Team SixtySix made picked up some big players. Team Figjam went bankrupt so SixtySix picked up Figjam, Figlet, Primetime and Feelgood. Those are solid golfers and Sixitysix came to Augusta more confident than ever before. They were actually the favorites to win. Team Sharkey replaced Team Figjam. They had a solid team as well ready to play in their first Cup. Day one proved what the experts thought, Sixty Six coming on strong in the FourBall, finishing the day on top with 14 points. Team Robio in second with 12.5 followed by Bones and Sharkey. The experts didn't take into consideration the shenanigans that SixtySix get into. They can golf when they don't worry about the extra-curricular activities that surround Gull Lake. SixtySix dropped to third place after the 36 holes on Friday and never recovered. Team Robio came on strong Friday morning and never looked back. With strong showing by Maulie, Porkchop, AJ, Bel-Air, Speith and Playboy, there was no catching them. Maulie and Playboy's performance was fantastic. They came up short in the end losing to Bones and house in the end, but the second place finish was exciting for their first year at The Lovefest. The trophy was back where it belongs. The hands of Robio! Final Score Team Robio - 87.5 Team Bones - 70.5 Team SixtySix - 63 Team Sharkey - 52 |
2021
Four teams of 22 players hit Gull Lake for Robiocup '21! Bones replaced Mayor as Captain so team becomes Team Bones. They're looking to repeat. Beautiful weather brought some great golf on day one at Stoatin Brae. The matches were close with the day ending with Team Bones leading the field with 13 points. Team 66 in last with 8.5. Friday morning started with a nice cool morning for the individual match play. Team 66 as usual was a question mark since they're team meeting the night before is always late. So all eyes were on them as they arrived early and with energy. Team 66 played well and came away with 33.5 points Friday morning to shock the field and announce they were here to play in 2021! The continued their march Friday afternoon and by the end of the day Team 66 was in second place chasing 3 on Team Bones. Saturday morning round brought some extra excitement as House from Team Bones had a hole-in-one on hole 2! Only the second hole-in-one in Robiocup history! Team 66 played well Saturday morning losing only 1.5 points to Team Bone's lead heading into the horse race. The two biggest questions of the day were on Team 66. Will they rise to the occasion in the high pressure horse race and will TBone and Assman win the Horce Race? Tbone and Assman were not the favorites after Tbone was rumored to be passed out on the floor of Studio 66. The horse race was exciting. Amazing shots and a miracle happened. Tbone and Assman made a thrilling run to their second Horse Race title after sneaking out of hole one. Team Bones hung on to the trophy to repeat because Team 66 had only one team make it to hole two of the horse race eliminating any chance for a Team 66 victory. Final Scores Team Bones - 70 Team 66 - 66.5 Team Robio - 65.5 Team Figjam - 65 |
2020
The Covid edition brought out 72 players on four teams. Team FigJam was changed to Team Sausage since FigJam and a few guys couldn't make it. It was great seeing Sausage step up for 2020. It was another great year at Augusta. Team Robio was looking to 5-Peat while Team Mayor, Team 66 and Team Sauage were going to do all they can to make sure that didn't happen. The Tourney started at the West Course this year instead of Stoatin Brae. Team Mayor came out on top in the Fourball match taking 12.5 points for the day. Team Robio collected 9 with Team Sausage with 7.5 and Team 66 with 7. Friday morning was the big match with a lot of points during the individual match play and Team Mayor was able to extend their lead by one over Team Robio and another 2.5 during the 4v4 match friday evening match. The Saturday morning round is the match that Team Robio has been able to gain momentum and either close the gap or extend their lead. This year it wasn't the case as Team Mayor extended their lead another 1.5 points. So heading into the horse race Team Robio was chasing 8 on Team Mayor. Team 66 and Team Sausage were playing spoilers and looking for one of their 2somes to take the Horse Race title. The Horse Race was a thriller. Defending champions TBone and ASsman started off the event with a birdie on their first hole. Letting everyone know they are ready to repeat! As the match was moving along there was a rumbling through the crowd as we reached the final ten 2somes to see that only two remained from Team Mayor, two from Team 66 with Tbone and Assman one of them. Two from Team Sausage and four from Team Robio. Team Robio was making their charge and closing the 8 point lead on Team Mayor. The surprise run so far was the Babe and Mush marching through the field. Mush making a huge 18 foot putt on #7 for par to stay out of the 5 team chip-off to advance four teams. The chip-off eliminated Bones and Spanky from Team Mayor and opened the door for a Team Robio victory. All they needed was one of their 2somes to win the horse Race and they would complete the comeback. The final hole was represented by Team 66 with Tbone Assman and BRO and rookie KB along with Team Robio's Babe and Mush pairing. Team Robio fell just short as they lost to BRO and KB on the final hole. BRO hit a huge 3wood to send them to victory and give Team Mayor the 2020 Robiocup Championship! A great ride and really a dominating weekend for Team Mayor. Final Scores - Team Mayor - 71.5 Team Robio - 69 Team 66 - 56 Team Sasauge 46.5 |
2019
This was the year for change. The Robiocup went from two teams to Four teams of 20 players. Team Robio, Team Mayor, Team 66 and Team Figjam. Matches went from 18 holes to 6 holes and 9 holes respectively. Team Robio was looking to be the first 4-Peat champion. The 60 players not on Team Robio were confident that wasn't going to happen with the four team format. Four teams, new format and awesome new shirts brought some great excitement to the weekend. After day one Team Figjam was leading followed by Team Mayor, Team Robio and trailing was Team 66. Friday brought some exciting golf with the new 6 hole individual match play and a lot of points. Team Figjam extended their lead slightly. Team Mayor held onto second place only a few points in front of Team Robio. Team 66 was leading in the beer chug contest while falling further back from the leader board. Saturday brought bright sunshine during an early round of twelve hole 2Man scramble and the new six hole alternate shot contest. Team Robio came to play. After the morning round Team Robio took over second place and was closing ground on Team Figjam for the lead. Team Mayor was slipping and was hoping to recover in the Horse Race. The Horse Race was exciting. After the first hole Team Robio was ready to pounce. Team FigJam was shocked. As the players gathered on the second hole the only 2some Team Figjam had left was FigJam himelf and Big Country. And the look on FigJam's face told the story. By hole three Team Robio was a point behind and there was nothing Team FigJam could do but hope. Team Mayor and Team 66 didn't have enough left in the tank to stop a 4-Peat. The only excitement that lifted the spirits of everyone not wearing Red was Tbone and AssMan taking the Horse Race title from Two pairs on Team Robio, Ripper/Robo and Fresh Prince/Babe. It was a great run by Tbone and Assman to win the Horse Race topping a 1 and a 3 handicapper. The question that is asked every year is - Can Team Robio be stopped? Team Robio - 73 Team Mayor - 67 Team Figjam - 65 Team 66 - 63 |
2018
This year Team Figjam had high hopes of getting this Cup back into the hands of Team Blue. The talk was about not allowing Team Robio to 3-Peat. Team Robio was coming into the weekend with confidence and a few new rookies to help keep the cup. Team FigJam took the early lead like always on Thursday. It gave them the boost they needed heading into the long day of golf on Friday. The wheels fell off the Team FigJam train early Friday as Team Robio came out strong. Tehy took the lead heading into the afternoon round and never looked back. Saturday morning Team Robio widened their lead and the battle was over as the Horse Race started. The only question during the Horse Race was if TEam Robio would take that title as well. Robio was paired with the Mayor and the two were hitting shot after shot advancing to the final hole. Scooter and Cerveza was matching them shot for shot. Team Figjams day was done and a Robio/Mayor Horse Race victory would have made the day much worse. Mayor's drive on the final hole into the weeds opened up the opportunity for Scooter and Cerveza to win the final match. 2018 was all Team Robio and not sure 2019 will be any different. Team Robio - 69 Team Figjam - 43 |
2017 The battle for the cup gets more intense each year. This year Team Robio was trying tomatch Team Figham with back to back titles. Sixty eight golfers started the tournament for the ultimate title at the new Links course Stoatin Brae. This new course added a twist to the event with rolling hills and very fast grass. Some high scores on the new course had a few golfers feeling very frustrated. At the end of the fourball match Team Robio took an early lead. A lead they would never relinquish. Day two was match play with Gmoney going head to head again against Mississippi. This was the most anticipated match fo the day. I was no contest as GMoney took him down 5-3. Team Robio extended their lead after the morning matches. The westher took a turn for the worse for the second round of play which Team FigJam cut the lead a little as everyone had to deal with cold rain and lots of wind on the North Course. Saturday started with a beautiful sunrise as the teams started early for the 2man match play. Team Figjam was eagerly ready to go and needed to have a huge morning to make it a match going into the horse race. That was not to be as Team Robio was a team that was not going to be let up and give them any hope. The Horse Race was another thriller. After a 45min 16th hole because seven of the ten 2somes couldn't hit the ball straight Ike was waiting as patient as possible but the wait didn't help and he sailed the ball over the green and into the woods. 2Mississippi did the same but with the help of the gallery the ball was found and rookie Dr Feelgood made a miraculous shot from deep in the woods and onto the green. Gmoney/Rooferson, looking to repeat as HR champions made it to the final hole along with 2Gloves/Judd and Dr Fellgood/2Mississippi. Rooferson didn't have a good tee shot as he sent his ball down the left tree line. Feelgood and 2Gloves had nice tee shots leaving their partners with an opportunity to set up a perfect approach. Judd tried a long 3 wood. He hit it well but sent into the bunker protecting the left side of the green. 2Mississippi left Feelgood about 140yrds out on the short grass. Dr Feelgood stuck his shot 10ft from the cup putting pressure on 2Gloves coming out of the sand. 2Gloves didn't respond well as his first shot rolled back in the sand leaving the door open for 2mississippi and rookie Feelgood to two putt for the win. Team Figjam's pairing of Dr. Feelgood and 2Mississippi wins the horse race it wasn't enough to take the Cup from Team Robio. Team Robio - 63 Team Figjam - 43 |
2016
This year had the largest amount of golafer in 11 years at 64! Team Robio did some serious recreuiting as they brought in some heavy hitter to add to the likes of Robo and Sausage. GKII aka Triple Stix and Greg S aka GMoney and Judd all added long hitting low handicappers to the team. Figjam was cocky and didn't think he had to worry that the three peat wasn't going to happen. Team Robio took an early lead after Thursday's fourball 8.5 to 3.5. and didn't turn back. Robio felt pretty good after he recorded the first ever hole-in-one at the Robiocup. The Friday match play round was tight. Mississippi delivered a pretty big upset of GMoney which some thought would give Team Figjam a boost but it didn't play out that way. At the end of Friday's play Team Robio had an 8 point lead. They took a 10 point lead going into the Horse Race. The Horse Race was exciting as GMoney and Rooferson played some incredible golf. GMoney earned his name when he stuck an iron shot on 16 after an errant shot by Rooferson. The gallery engulfed the 18th and some onlookers gathered in their balconies for a better view over the crowd surrounding the green. Big Country just missed a putt for bogey which opened the door for Rooferson to end it with a right to left putt for the Horse Race Championship. Team Robio took the Cup from Team Figjam and celebration begun. Team Robio 43 Team Figjam 36 |
2015
Team Robio was looking to get the trophy back while Team FigJam was eager to be the first repeat Champions. The weekend delivered more thrilling golf. Team FigJam took an early lead Friday and was feeling good going into Saturday morning. Team Robio had his guys ready for the morning 2-man match play as they came together and closed the lead to 21-18 heading into the horse race. It appears the great steak and shrimp was little too much for Team Robio as they marched to the tee boxes for the horse race. The match was all but over after Medium Johnny ripped his drive directly into the woods to also close the book on 3-peating the horse-race. As Team figJam was crowned 2015 Champions – the unlikely duo of Crawford and Hotshot stormed past the scorching hot Fahey and Strokeman to win the horse-race. Team FigJam - 43 Team Robio - 34 |
2014
The weekend delivered some great golf with a thrilling hole #4 on the horse-race to decide the RobioCup. The score was Team FigJam 29 and Team Robio 30. With 5 teams moving on to the next hole. Team FigJam already had 3 and Team Robio 1. The hole went to a chip-off between three pairs – Two from Team Robio and one from Team FigJam. To keep the match going Team Robio needed one of his pairs to move on. Flair went first and left his chip about 18” from the cup. SportsNight went second and left his 12” from the Cup. Team Robio was feeling pretty good since Team FigJam had the Pope up next. The Pope’s last attempt during the hole was a swing and miss. A spectacular 14’ right to left put by Mississippi was needed to put the pair of Mississippi and the Pope in the chip-off. The Pope stunned everyone with the chip of his life! He almost holed it as it stopped an inch short of falling but secured victory for Team FigJam. Medium Johnny and Bones did repeat as horse-race champions making the final score – Team FigJam 34 Team Robio – 32 |
2013
FigJam was named new Captain of the blue team in 2013. The team was not happy with the Mayor's off-season antics. Team Robio was poised to take the trophy from team blue with a strong showing. The weekend delivered some exciting golf which continued until the last tee shot. The tourney went back and forth Friday and Saturday morning. The horse-Race was a tense battle which started on the first hole when Bones hit his tee shot into the high grass on the left side of hole 3. The ball was found just barley within the time limit for looking for lost balls. The ball was found and his partner Medium Johnny hit a nice shot to help them advance to the next hole. This gave them and Team Robio the lift they needed as Bones and Medium Johnny continued to stay focused and won the horse-race and sending the tourney to an extra hole. Team Robio chose Sausage King to win it for his team. FigJam showed he was a rookie captain going with the over served Mississippi. Sausage hammered his drive straight down the fairway as Mississippi struggled to get his ball on the tee and than drove the ball into the woods. Game set Match! Team FigJam - 33 Team Robio - 34 |

2012
Team Mayor prevailed over Team Robio in the close match that had to extend into Sunday morning because of rain during the horse-race. Three 2-somes had hit the course at 7am to complete the horse-race. There was a slight delay as Flair made it to the tee box with seconds to spare. He was held up in route, regurgitating his breakfast and the drinks he had the previous evening. That dictated how the match would end as the pair of FigJam and Furley won the horse-race and completed the victory for Team Mayor. Team Mayor – 33 Team Robio - 31 |
